Allstate Protection Plans for Appliances

Extended Coverage for New & Open-Box Appliances

When you purchase an appliance from Blue’s Appliance, your investment is protected from day one.

Both new and open-box appliances include a 1-year manufacturer warranty, and customers can add an Allstate Protection Plan for extended coverage beyond the manufacturer warranty period.

Our layered protection approach ensures you are covered locally and nationwide.

How Appliance Protection Works at Blue’s Appliance

Understanding how appliance warranties work can help you make a confident decision.

There are three layers of protection:

1. 48-Hour Blue’s Appliance Support

(Local Open-Box Deliveries Only)

For locally delivered open-box appliances through our Sacramento appliance delivery service, customers have 48 hours after delivery to contact our team if there are any immediate concerns.

If a confirmed malfunction is identified, our team works directly with you to help resolve it quickly.

This support window applies to locally delivered open-box appliances only.

2. 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty

(New & Open-Box Appliances)

Both new and our open-box appliances include a 1-year manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase.

Manufacturer warranties typically:

  • Cover parts
  • May limit labor coverage
  • Exclude certain electronic components
  • Require service through authorized technicians

Customers contact the manufacturer directly during the manufacturer warranty period.

3. Allstate Protection Plan

(Concurrent & Extended Coverage)

The Allstate Protection Plan begins on the date of purchase and runs concurrently with the manufacturer warranty.

This means:

  • Coverage starts immediately
  • It works alongside manufacturer coverage
  • It may cover labor where the manufacturer limits coverage
  • It extends protection beyond the first year
  • It covers mechanical and electrical failures (based on plan terms)

After the manufacturer warranty expires, the Allstate Protection Plan continues coverage for the remainder of the selected term.

Is the Allstate Protection Plan an Extended Warranty?

It is often referred to as an extended warranty, but it functions differently than many traditional extended warranties.

Instead of waiting until the manufacturer warranty ends, the Allstate Protection Plan begins on the date of purchase and works concurrently. This provides layered protection instead of a gap in coverage.

Why Appliance Protection Plans Are Worth Considering

Modern appliances rely heavily on advanced electronics and control boards.

Common repair costs nationwide:

  • Refrigerator control board replacement: $400–$900
  • Washer motor repair: $300–$700
  • Oven display or electronic panel: $350–$800
  • Compressor replacement: $800+

Even one major repair can exceed the cost of a protection plan.

Appliance protection plans are especially valuable for:

Modern appliances today are more energy-efficient and technologically advanced than ever before. While this improves performance, it also increases repair complexity. Electronic control boards, sensors, smart connectivity components, and high-efficiency compressors can be expensive to diagnose and replace. As appliance technology evolves, extended protection plans have become more valuable for long-term ownership.

Customers shopping our nationwide appliance shipping options can purchase with confidence knowing their investment is protected.

Additional Benefits Included with Eligible Plans

Unlike many basic extended warranties, the Allstate Protection Plan may include:

  • Up to $300 food spoilage reimbursement (refrigerators)
  • Up to $50 laundry reimbursement (washers/dryers)
  • Power surge protection
  • Mechanical and electrical failure coverage

These benefits begin at the time of purchase.

Do You Have to Register the Protection Plan?

No. Registration is not required. Coverage begins automatically on the date of purchase.

However, customers may choose to register their plan with Allstate for convenience, which may streamline the claims process if service is ever needed.

Is the Protection Plan Listed on Your Receipt?

Yes. Your receipt includes:

  • Date of purchase
  • Appliance information
  • Allstate Protection Plan line item
  • Model or serial number (in many cases)

Customers receive either a printed receipt or an emailed copy.

If needed, model and serial numbers can also be found on the manufacturer tag attached to the appliance.

Keeping your receipt ensures a smooth claims process.
